Unauthorized Access: Either you do not have the privilege, or you have not signed in.

While getting started with Oracle BI Publisher, you may face this problem saying
"Unauthorized Access: Either you do not have the privilege, or you have not signed in." even if you have logged in as weblogic user.

This is because, the weblogic user is not having permission to access root folders bisystemuser and My Folders. So, we are modifying the permission of those folders as below.

1. Stop all BI Services.
2. Open Catalog Manager in offline mode.
3. Select User Folders.
4. Right click on bisystemuser  and give full control to weblogic user.
5. Right click on My Folders and give full control to weblogic user.
6. Restart the BI Services.
7. You are the in to BI Publisher.

Unable to select Connection pool when creating init block in OBIEE 11g

Problem:
In Administration Tool, when i tried to create an Initialization Block, I found I couldn't select the connection pool option, is disabled.

Note:
By default, the first connection pool under the database object in the Physical layer is not available for selection. This behavior ensures that you cannot use the same connection pool for initialization blocks that you use for queries.

Good Practice:
Make sure that, every time you import new connection, you have duplicated connection pool dedicated to use in initialization block.

Solution:
1. Open Admin Tool,
2. Go to Tool > Options
3. On the General tab, select "Allow First Connection for Init Blocks"
4. Select Ok.
5. Save changes you have made.
6. You are ready to deal with Initialization Blocks.

Happy stay.. :-)

Limiting number of rows to display per page while exporting the report in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
While using OBIEE v11.1.1.7. In Analysis, you may need to set the row limit per page to 25 but while exporting it to pdf or Excel, its displaying more than 25 records per page.

How to set the row limit per page, while exporting the report?

Go to,
EM > Capacity Management > Performance.
Here, you can set,

User Session Expiry,
Maximum Number of Rows Processed when Rendering a Table View,,
Maximum Number of Rows to Download,
Maximum Number of Rows Per Page to Include

Set the values as per your choice, apply the changes. Activate changes and Restart the BI services.

You are done..!! :-)
